Mystery
The Graffiti Bandit
“Come on Alyson, we are going to miss the train to Philadelphia,” Tammy beckoned.
“Calm down!” Alyson hollered from far behind.
After Alyson and Tammy boarded the train, they sat down. Mr. Thomason, the conductor, came into the seating area.
“Someone on this train doesn’t have ticket. Everyone please hold up your pass,” Mr. Thomason announced.
Alyson reached into her pocket and felt around. Her ticket must have fell out of her pocket on the to the train station! Mr. Thomason walked over to where Alyson and Tammy were seated.
“Excuse me young lady, where is your pass?” Mr. Thomason questioned.
“Umm…I had it a second ago.” Alyson answered shyly.
Alyson’s blood was boiling when she got escorted off the train. Tammy didn't even get off the train with her! Why? Why didn't she just walk there? That would take longer, but it would have caused less commotion and embarrassment.
"What went on here?" said Agent Samuel Grays.
Mr. Thomason called Samuel to help him investigate a crime scene. Samuel Grays is an FBI agent who specializes in crimes such as vandalism and Grays was excited for the case.
"Someone graffitied my train," Mr. Thomason exclaimed angrily.
"I guess now would be a good time to look for clues." Samuel Grays stated.
"What a brilliant idea," Mr. Thomason bellowed sarcastically .
Samuel slipped on some gloves and snatched his magnifying glass. As he stepped into the crime scene he immediately saw a large heap of empty spray paint cans. There was also a neon green capital TL on the side of the train.
"Who was that girl without a pass?" asked Samuel.
"Oh...um...Alyson? She is a sweet girl. I was surprised when I found out she didn't have a pass," Mr. Thomason said.
"Okay, who was the young lady next to her? The red head?" Agent Grays said.
"That is Tammy Lucifer. She and Alyson have known each other since birth. They are like sisters," answered Mr. Thomason.
"Well, now we have two suspects. Do you have anyone at home that could have done it? A wife? Kids?" Samuel Grays blurted out.
"I have a wife, Amy, and a son, Jay," replied Mr. Thomason.
"You know, we are going to have to interview them," Grays muttered under his breath.
"Yes, I understand. Now, get to work; I didn't pay you to chit chat[GU3] ," Mr. Thomason hissed.
As Samuel stepped into the interrogation room, he saw a teenage boy with pierced ears and headphones in.
"Hello, how are you doing Jay?" asked Samuel in a friendly way.
Jay ignored him and took a piece of half-chewed mint bubblegum out of his pocket. Agent Grays got frustrated but managed to calm himself down. Agent knew that he needed to get at least some information from this annoying teenager.
"I have one question, where were you when your dad's train was graffitied?" questioned Samuel.
"I have no idea," Jay mumbled as he walked out of the room.
After the detective had interrogated Mrs. Thomason and Jay Thomason, he went back to the crime scene. He hopped over the brightly colored caution tape and began looking for clues.
Agent Grays noticed a small ticket next to the pile of spray paint cans. He walked over to it and examined the small torn-up ticket. Samuel could tell that there was a name on it, but it was too blurry to read.
Agent Grays called up Mr. Thomason, letting him know that he was going to interview Alyson and Tammy that afternoon. Mr. Thomason asked if he could help, but Samuel said no.
“Why am I here?” Alyson barked in a frustrated tone.
“You know why you’re here,” Tammy babbled.
“Don’t start with me. They found your initials on the train,” Alyson argued.
“Ladies, calm down! We have some unfinished business to discuss.” interrupted Agent Grays
“I didn’t do it, so I’m leaving!” Tammy yelled as she slammed the door behind her.
“Okay then, she didn’t want to discuss it. So, let’s get down to business,” Agent Samuel whispered.
“Did you graffiti the train?” chirped Samuel.
“No, I have no idea why everyone thinks that it was me,” Alyson countered.
“Let me see your hands.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Fine.”
Alyson slammed her hands on the table. Her hands were brightly colored green with paint.
“Ah-Ha, so it was you,” Agent Grays accused.
“Incorrect, it was Tammy. I was angry when I got off the train, so I used painting to calm me down. Not graffiti,” Alyson said arrogantly.
“Show me the picture then,” Samuel argued.
“Fine, here it is,” Alyson said as she pulled the most beautiful landscape folded up painting that Samuel had ever seen.
Alyson went back to the crime scene with Agent Grays. As they looked around they saw a piece of bubblegum on the ground. Alyson had a small hunch of who it could be.
Ring! Ring! Ring! Jay picked up the phone. Samuel told him to come to the office. When Jay arrived he saw the piece of bubblegum in a plastic bag labeled “Evidence”. He sat down and put his feet up on the table.
“Feet off the table. I know it was you! This gum is yours.” Samuel shouted angrily.
“No, that is my father’s gum. He chews it on the train to occupy himself. Plus, I only chew mint gum.” Jay inquired in a sassy tone as he examined the bubblegum.
Once Samuel finished the interview he went home. How could he figure this out? He had run out of ideas. Or had he? The only thing he didn’t question was their motives. Now, he had caught his victim red handed, or should he say green handed.

It was Alyson because her hands were green, they found her ticket on the crime scene, and she framed Tammy because Tammy didn't get off the train with her. Her motive was that she was angry at Mr. Thomason for kicking her off the train.

My Proverb
A man who accuses his friends wrongly will be a man who will have friends no more.
This proverb was something that I could relate to immediately. My proverb means that you should not accuse something of someone unless it was 100% them. I have had people accuse me of something that I didn't do. It makes you dislike them and not want to be friends with them. It makes you feel like they think you are a bad person. No one likes to be blamed for something that they didn't do, so be kind and only tell the 100% truthful truth.

Loch Ness Monster
By Anna Durning
Have you ever wondered if Nessie is real? We have "pictures", but they could have easily been photo shopped. Other than that, we have no real proof that she is real; that also means we have no proof that she is fake or fictional.
The Loch Ness Monster is a large aquatic being. She is said to be over 100 feet long. Nessie has a long neck, small head, and if you spot her in the water you will probably see large humps sticking out of the water behind her. That is part of her unique body formation. This creature is darkly colored. Many people say she is black, green, or gray.
Many people think that the Nessie is real, but if this is true, then why are we hunting her? If the Loch Ness Monster is real, we should be helping her to not be endangered. Leaving her alone would let her be in peace and not go extinct. Another reason why we should let Nessie be is that she is wild. If dinosaurs where alive, would you go around hunting them? No! She is wild and deserves to live a free and full life. It’s not fair. You wouldn’t try to capture alligators or rhinos, so why do we hunt the Loch Ness Monster?
If you are ever near the Loch Ness Lake in Scotland and see a large creature, don’t panic. It is probably just Nessie stopping by.[
